KraljevoThe merry-go-round spinning with the living and the dead who love and hate, fall and rise, as individuals, loners, or as a crowd, once again has arrived to the theatre in Rijeka, showing how it’s possible to ring out the old and ring in the new.
“If the Kraljevo of 1991 stressed the brutality and inebriety of that whirlpool, this renewal stresses frivolity and waiting. It depicts a Beckettian world.
Vito Taufer, From the programme booklet

At that time… “in a surprisingly absurd, clownish and ludic manner, seemingly totally inappropriate to Krleza’s work, Taufer pointed his warning finger at eternal Croatian frustrations. That was a dynamic and flexible show, while this one adheres to ideas of stagnant decay, being statically decomposed into sequences of brilliant and humorous sparks, none the less cautioning, if there still exist fools that need be warned…”
