Mike Cullen is a middle-aged Scottish playwright ANNA WEISS is his third full-length play, the two previously written being THE CUT and THE COLLECTION. He also writes for film and television.

Does Anna Weiss talk of the psychologically recognised syndrome of false memories? Or, perhaps, of sexual child abuse? Or, is the play a condemnation of the psychotherapists who get involved with the private lives of their patients?… Is the crushed father a monstrous torturer or a victim whose child has been taken away from him in the most perfidious of manners. Where do memories end and where do autosuggestion and manipulation with human memories begin?

The director seems to have convinced the actors of the necessity of their saying their lines with maniacal speed and extreme loudness; he seems to have aimed at achieving some kind of neurotic unity of voice and gesture which led to the destruction of the characters’ psychological nuances and the fine texture of their intriguing relationships…
Natalia Dangubić (Lynn) a young actress of great credibility and spontaneity, by not consenting to build false psychological tension…, becomes a relief for the~-ears. She satiates the performance with the sincere vulnerability and
bewilderment of those faintly aware of the deep scars they carry.
