"Antigona", directed by Lenka Udovički, strikes at both the tragic centre-point of Sophocles? play and post-Yugoslav war drama in which almost every family house was also the house of royal loss and the house whose tenants were well acquainted with their executioners from their neighbourhood. Although in the end Antigona on Brijuni steps out of her plaster grave cover demanding to see the remains of her killed brother as a sister, a daughter and a citizen, the question still remains: can such a simple demand for war factography release the native soil from its violent cover? Can found and processed documents on a crime really put an end to the rule of rage or at least transform it? Or is the road to transformation intended to be paved by the hand of the theatre, or, more precisely, a community brought together by ritual, through a complex examination of insanity, and by consenting to observe its entire burden, influence and intensity? Whichever the case might be, ?Antigona? is the play of very strong performative gravity and, to date, the most complete directing work by the authorial team led by producer Lenka Udovički.
