This is a play which speaks about us; it represents a socio-psychological study of a society built on repressed traumas. Steering clear from traps of pathetic tones into a pathetic tone, Anica Tomić and Jelena Kovačić manage to deliver a strong, at times raw even, but above all impressive and anxiety-ridden vision of the immediate post-war state...Accepting no compromise, the authors set a thesis about happiness as a means of hiding anxiety and trauma. In the world of four individuals the smile is but a simple mask, a sole way of fighting against frightening afterthoughts. Excuse me, may I tell you...? is above all a story about posturing and faked happiness as a thin facade hiding all war horrors in chaotic memories.
